Paedophile gets put behind bars

Teesside Crown Court heard how the officer joined an children's chat room in April last year.

Pinkney exchanged sexualised conversations and sent images, believing they were going to a girl of the age of 12.

The court, in Middlesbrough, heard how police tracked Pinkney down and his online device was examined.

Pinkney was found to be in possession of indecent photographs of children.

There was also evidence to show that he had been distributing images by Kik messenger.

Pinkney, of Doncaster Crescent, Stockton, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child, distributing indecent images of children and attempting to cause a child to look at sexual activity.

He also admitted three charges of making indecent images of children of categories A, B and C.

Pinkey, told the judge how Pinkney is a father and also a carer for his grandmother. He said: "My lord, this is a young man who has had a number of problems." Mr Constantine said that Pinkney finds it difficult to explain what led him down this path.

He said there was an acceptance by him that his behaviour had been "appalling".
