Parents are being warned of a highly contagious winter virus on the rise among children, with six key signs and symptoms to look out for.

The UK Health Security Agency has noted an increase in cases of respiratory syncytial virus -known as RSV -for the first time this winter.

It leads to around 450,000 doctor visits, 29,000 hospital admissions, and 83 deaths each year among children and teenagers across the UK. Elderly adults are also significantly affected, with 8,000 deaths each year related to RSV.
