Person dies on railway tracks near South London station as rush hour trains disrupted

This led to lines being closed and disruption on the railway network during rush hour. Officials said trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised, including services from London Waterloo station

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police BTP told MyLondon: "British Transport Police received a report shortly after 5am today April 24 to a casualty on the tracks near Teddington station.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

All lines were cleared following the incident before 8am. But disruption was expected to last until 10am. Services were cancelled on the following lines:
