Police manhunt launched after lone woman raped in Highgate

The victim, in her 20s, was heading home after a night out in Highgate on Monday December 16 at 3.30am.

As she turned off Dartmouth Park Hill a man suddenly approached her in a threatening manner.

He then forced her to perform a sex act.

Detectives have launched an appeal to find the suspect and have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is described as having a black, speaking with a “London accent”, and wearing a fur-lined hooded jacket, dark jeans, dark trainers and a dark top with a logo.

A 37-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of rape on the morning of the incident but after being questioned he was released with no further action.
