Popular Edinburgh vegan cafe finally reopens in new site after being 'forced' to shut

Plant Bae had proved an extremely popular addition to Edinburgh city centre during the pandemic, but was forced to close over uncertainties in 2021 However, their new site has now opened in Leith

Located on Leith Walk, staff had been keeping hungry locals updated on their progress getting the new venue ready for business, operating a soft launch in recent days.

Operating with an entirely plant-based menu, their aesthetic dishes and interior has been continued in the new Leith eatery, with diners already sharing their plates to social media.

Currently operating Tuesday through Sunday Plant Bae said there is still "lot's to be done" on the new site.

The news of a reopening had landed on welcome ears earlier this year, after the Haymarket venue announced they would be closing for good last December.

Claiming the decision was based on the "disappearing" office lunch trade and "staff shortages", the cafe, who also own Grams in Stockbridge, said they had no option but to shut up shop.
