Predators raped girl, 16, after asking to use her phone outside London Underground station and telling her he'd killed before

Abdi Ahmed, 32, befriended the victim outside Camden Underground station, where she had been using one of the station’s mobile phone charging ports in the early hours of May 5, 2020.

He approached her asking if she could call a taxi for him, before then persuading her to come with him.

Ahmed also told the girl he had killed people in the past, which made the victim fearful of him.

He took her to a nearby hostel in Kentish Town, but staff at the site told him guests were not allowed in. As a result, he then took her to a flat belonging to of 41-year-old Ahmed Mohamed in Camden.

It was at this property where the two men raped her.

The victim managed to escape into a bathroom and call police, during which she described roughly where she had been taken while officers tracked her phone. They arrived at the flat shortly after.

When Mohamed was arrested on suspicion of rape at the scene, he told officers that “the most I’ve probably done is touch her hair”.

The victim had suffered bruises to her neck and chest.

Ahmed, of Kentish Town, and Mohamed, of Camden, initially denied offences of rape, but later changed their pleas to guilty.

They appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday March 31 to be sentenced.
