Rail strike 2022: What Edinburgh ScotRail routes will be running and when

Although ScotRail staff are not taking part in this strike, Network Rail staff in Scotland will be and therefore we will see a knock-on-effort, halting over 95 per cent of services in Scotland

Those who usually travel by train are being warned to expect disruption throughout the whole week and to avoid travelling by train if possible.

The strike, which is thought to be the largest seen in decades, by RMT members of Network Rail will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday next week - June 21, 23 and 25.

On those days, the only trains leaving Edinburgh Waverley will be to Glasgow via Falkirk High, another via Shotts and Bathgate.

Just five ScotRail routes are scheduled to run between 7:30am to 6:30pm on the three days of strike action.

* Edinburgh - Glasgow via Falkirk High: two trains per hour

* Edinburgh - Bathgate: two trains per hour

* Glasgow - Hamilton/Larkhall: two trains per hour

* Glasgow - Lanark: two trains per hour

* Edinburgh - Glasgow via Shotts: one train per hour
