Redbridge man, 21, jailed for 'threatening to shoot London Underground staff in the head' at Piccadilly Circus station

Fudhail Kelali, 21, of Snakes Lane East, Redbridge, attacked three members of staff at Piccadilly Circus Underground station in September 2019, after one staff member refused to open the barriers for his friend without a ticket.

Kelali threatened to shoot two of the staff members 'in the head', and at one point made out he was reaching for something in his clothing to do so.

Following a British Transport Police BTP investigation, Kelali was found guilty of two counts of common assault and a public order offence against staff at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 26.

He was sentenced to 22 weeks imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim service charge of £128.

The court heard how on September 30, 2019, Kelali told a member of staff at Piccadilly Circus Underground station to open the barriers for his friend.

When the staff member explained they would need a ticket, Kelali forced open the gate and pushed through.

He attacked the member of staff, pushing him, attempting to take his watch and threatening to shoot him in the head.

Kelali then became aggressive towards another member of staff, knocking a radio out of his possession and punching him in the back, causing him to fall through the gate.

The court heard how a third member of staff attempted to get Kelali to leave, but he threatened to shoot her whilst seemingly reaching for something in his clothing.
