The Manchester United youngster has received huge praise from former players and his England teammates. The 18-year-old was handed his first start against Belgium after coming on as a second-half substitute in the game against Brazil on Saturday evening

Mainoo played as part of a midfield three with Declan Rice as captain for the evening and Jude Bellingham playing in a more advanced role. Despite Gareth Southgate's team not winning the friendly, Mainoo was superb.

LUCKHURST:

The youngster's calm and collected performance and his ability to fit in seamlessly alongside Rice and Bellingham now has many fans calling for him to be included in England's European Championship squad in the summer.
