A pal of Kamaran Khader told how he vanished after a string of threats on his life

Cigarette smuggler Khader, 40, who ran a £28million empire, fled to Iraq after a gunman fired at him in Greenock in May, 2020.

But the Record reports how Khader's friend fears whoever gave the order has managed to finish the job.

Khader was arrested in Iraq along with three pals over firearm offences.

They were paraded in front of the media in orange jail jumpsuits after their arrests, which followed a showdown meeting linked to the feud, involving rivals from Glasgow.

Khader paid thousands for bail and, once freed, moved to Sulaymaniyah to look after his ill parents.
