The decorated war veteran, who died in 2019 at the age of 99, was a regular fixture on Princes Street and the Royal Mile where he was often seen in his tartan trousers with his collecting tin

Around 300 mourners turned out, some wearing tartan, to St Mary's Catholic Cathedral when he died to pay their respects.
