The abandoned Edinburgh call centre completely frozen in time

The footage, uploaded to YouTube by an account named Exploring with Alec, investigates the Finance House building which has lain empty since 2018. With many of the fittings still in place, the video isn't your usual 'haunted house' abandoned building - and in some ways has a more sinister feel

As if having been left in a hurry due to a zombie apocalypse, Finance House in Comely Bank still has many of the buildings computers and other technology and documents sitting out - some parts of the building feel like workers could walk back in tomorrow and get back to the daily grind if they needed to.

Finance House was first opened in 1968, and housed Lloyds Banking Group call centre until its eventual closure. With a large extension added in 1978, the building as a whole is definitely on the larger side.

The exploring team behind the video are no strangers to making their way into Scotland's deserted buildings, with regular uploads to their YouTube channel - including investigations of mansions, hospitals, train stations, and other structures. In this particular video, they struggle to open the gate to the call centre and make the decision to climb the gate - something we don't recommend.

As they enter through a side door and make their way through an initial mess, what is soon found is relics from the building's previous life - calendars, phones, desks and other items that have long since been forgotten about...
