Some ex-EastEnders actors go on to marry even more famous stars, and while you may already know of Shane Richie's famous wife, we bet you didn't realise that one star of Albert Square is married to an actor so famous he was twice nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actor.

That's right. Kate Magowan, from Harrow, London, is married to renowned British actor John Simm, who has starred in some of the best known British TV shows. The pair married in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, and have a son and a daughter together.
Kate played beauty salon owner Sadie Young in EastEnders from 2013 to 2014, while previously starring in hit shows including The Bill and Silent Witness.
But while Kate has somewhat dipped out of the spotlight since her role in EastEnders came to an end, her husband has become a household name in the British TV and film world.
