But there's one station in West London that breaks the mould -you can't get to it by foot at all

Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 is the only tube station with no street level entrance or exit. It's tucked away in Travelcard Zone 6 and serves as a speedy gateway to Heathrow Airport for Londoners.

You can catch the Piccadilly line here, or hop on the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services at the nearby railway station.

This unique station first opened its doors in December 1977, known then as Heathrow Central. It marked the final stage of the Piccadilly line's extension from Hounslow West to the airport.

This was a big deal at the time -it was the first time an airport had been directly linked to an underground railway system.
