The epic European country is humungous and has incredibly scenery that is not to be missed. It is officially the world's largest island that is not a continent and has around 56,000 inhabitants

Although tourism has grown in the country, with cruise line passengers stopping in the spot having grown 150 per cent since 2000, it still struggles when it comes to visitors. It is 10 times larger than the UK, but only 107,000 tourists 'land on Greenlandic soil each year', according to The Telegraph.

As well as the spectacular Artic landscape which you can fill your time with sightseeing, there are also many animals that live in Greenland. Many tourists enjoy spotting humpback whales, polar bears, musk oxen, walruses, reindeer, and sea eagles.

Over 80 per cent of the island is covered by a permanent ice cap, which is slowly melting due to global warming. Its the perfect spot to go on hunting and fishing activities, coastal sailings and cruises.
