West Lothian changing room dubbed with racist graffiti branded as 'hate crime'

Officers are now appealing for further information after the site in Linlithgow was spray-painted with "offensive language" at the weekend

According to a statement, the old Linlithgow Thistle changing room building at the Linlithgow Bridge playing fields was subject to the vandalism, which is now being treated as a hate crime.

Those responsible are thought to have targeted the building at some time between Friday evening, June 24 and Saturday morning, June 25.

Although the words used are not known, police have branded the graffiti as "racist", and have urged anyone with information to contact them on 101 as soon as possible.

Police Constable Anthony Hunt said: "Due to the nature of the graffiti, we are treating this as a hate crime.

"Enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone...
