Woman, 25, found dead in her car in Hackney named for first time as man charged with murder

Yesterday Sunday, April 7 saw a 27-year-old man officially charged with her murder.

Gogoa Tape, of Marsworth House, will appear later today Monday, April 8 at Thames Magistrates' Court.

Police first confirmed that a man had been arrested on Sunday.

The Met said: "Police were called at 6.42am on Saturday, April 6 to Whiston Road E2 after concerns for a woman's welfare.

"The woman was found unresponsive inside a car in an alleyway. Officers forced entry and administered CPR prior to the arrival of London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance paramedics.

"Despite the best efforts of emergency services the woman, aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers believe that they know who the deceased is and have informed next of kin.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place. A post-mortem examination will be held as soon as possible.
