Woman's A Place in the Sun application goes viral for 'misunderstanding' the show

At first glance, most viewers would think it was a generic 'Sorry, but you've not been selected' email - but looking a little closer, the hilarity of the situation is right there.

The email reads: "Hi Ciara, Many thanks for your interest in applying to take part in A Place in the Sun.

"Unfortunately, we cannot progress with your application as the process does not involve going to the actual sun. The name refers to overseas travel in pursuit of buying a property, typically to a location with good (or better) weather than we have in the UK.

"While I appreciate your desire to be 'launched into the sun to never return', this is not something we can help with on this occasion. Best of luck in your endeavours."

The tweet has since went completely viral, resulting in 1,854 retweets and a whopping 28.4K likes - alongside numerous replies under the original post.
