Woman stabbed 10 times after asking man to leave her North London home

Police were called by the victim's flatmate to the address at around 1.20am on November 15, 2021. The victim, aged in her 20s, was found by officers with multiple stab injuries

The victim and James Legg, 31, had spent the day with each other. However, she had asked him to leave her address as he had been taking drugs and alcohol and she was concerned about his behaviour.

After putting his coat on, Legg returned to the victim’s room armed with a knife and launched the 'horrific' attack. The victim was found to have ten stab injuries by medical staff, and only managed to avoid receiving further wounds as she managed to grab hold of the knife.

Legg attempted to get another knife from the kitchen and the woman managed to barricade herself in the bathroom. Legg attempted to get into the bathroom but left the flat before police arrived.

He was quickly tracked down and arrested. During police interview, he did not provide any reason for the attack and answered no comment to all questions put to him.

On Friday, April 19 he was sentenced to 28 years in prison at Wood Green Crown Court. He previously appeared at the same court on Tuesday, 6 February...
