Working from home has boosted productivity during the pandemic – poll

A survey of 2,000 employers by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development CIPD found a "significant" productivity benefit over the past year as many staff worked from home.

Employers should make hybrid working a "success" rather than trying to return to previous ways of working, the report recommended.

The CIPD is now calling on businesses and the UK government to make the option of flexible working a day-one right for all employees.

Two-thirds of survey respondents said they plan to introduce or expand the use of hybrid working.

Many employers said staff who cannot work from home should still be able to benefit from flexible working arrangements, such as flexi-time.
